  • Well I couldn't put my pictures in so I will continue to write a little about Logan's report of his mission in Pennsylvania.  He has grown so much and is such a good looking young man.  I am so proud of him!  We had alot of family here this week end.  All of my kids were there and all of John and Cindy's family was there too.  We had a nice visit with everyone.  We met at Cindy's for dinner and to visit.  She is so sweet to have everything at her house.  She is the only one with a big enough house.  I will see if I can add pictures here.

  • Trip with Jeanette & Bonnie & Logan's report

    Sunday 10-19-08

I will start with my trip to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone Park with Jeanette and her sister Bonnie and a friend of Jeanette's.  We went on Sept. 19 and 20.  I picked up Bonnie at the Pocatello airport on Thursday evening and she stayed the night with me and we left the next morning for Jeanette's.  We arrived there at 9am and loaded her car and took off on our picture taking trip.  We really had a good time together and saw alot of beautiful country.  Everything was quite dry and the fall colors were just getting started.  There wasn't much color around Palisades Lake but going up the river from Alpine was more colorful in places.  We got alot of pictures anyway!  We took our own lunch stuff and stopped at 1pm for lunch along the river where there were some picnic tables and we had our lunch.  We headed into Jackson and on the road that is closest to the Tetons.  We got alot of wondcerful pictures.  We stayed at a Dude Ranch somewhere in Teton Park.  That was interesting!  We ate our meals there at the ranch.  It was good food and we were the only women there.  There were some men there to hunt whatever!  The next day we headed into Yellowstone Park and went to the Grand Canyon Falls.  We got lots of good pictures there also.  There were alot of tourists still and everyone was taking pictures every where we went. We stopped in West Yellowstone and got a huckleberry ice cream cone.   We went back home through Island Park and there were lots of beautiful colors all through there.  We drove to Idaho Falls and had dinner at Johney Carino's and then headed back to Jeanette's.  We had a wonderful time together and got lots of neat pictures.  I will add my pictures here:

  • Week in Salmon with my brother Dale.

I went to Salmon and spent a week with Dale.  He wasn't so busy, so we were able to do some fun things together.  We made several trips to different places I hadn't been in a long time and to some places I had never been.  We went to  Sacajewia Park, which wasn't much there, but it was pretty driving up there.  We drove over the old road that we used to drive the cows over to Wisdom, Montana, for summer pasture.  Boy that road was as rough as I remembered.  We had lunch in Wisdom and came home on the highway.  We drove up Panther Creek to a couple of mine sites and saw alot of pretty country.  The trees were just beginning to change color.  We came back on the road from where Panther Creek dumps into the Salmon River and sent up the River where we came out at North Fork.  I had never been on that Road before.  Everything was really dry!  I would like to see it in the springtime when it is all green and covered with wild flowers.  We really had a good time together and did alot of reminincing.  I tired to do some cleaning for Dale and cooked some things ahead and put it in the freezer for him later on.  I took alot of pictures!

  • Wedding and visit to Utah

Well I'm behind as usual but I will start with the wedding I went to on the 8th of August in Idaho Falls Temple.  It was my brother's granddaughter, Emily Stokes, who is Barbara & Boyd's daughter.  It was a beautiful ceremony and it was good to see so many people that I don't see very often.  I will put in a few pictures of her and her family that I took.  Emily and her sisters are the sweetest, most kind and thoughtful girls I have ever known.  Her two bothers are sweet too!

On August 11 Cindy and I went to Salt Lake to see Debbie and her family, and my little great granddaughters, and Marla.  We really had a good time and got to do alot of scrapbooking and card making.  Debbie made a really delicious fruit salad with a sauce for it and it was to die for!  All my daughters are the best cooks!  I don't do much cooking anymore!  We went down to Marla's on Friday morn and spent the day scrapbooking with her and went out to lunch.  Cindy and I stayed at Marla's that night and spent all day Saturday with her and did some shopping!  Cindy and I got home about 7:30 pm.  Marla's son Riley has been taking swimming lessons from a guy in her ward, who has a pool in his back yard and give lessons to those who would like too.  He is very good with them and Riley and Conner have learned alot from him.  I took some pictures of Riley floating, swimming backward and swimming too.  I was impressed!  It was a fun trip and we all had a good time.  I wish I lived closer so I could enjoy my little great granddaughters but their Moms always put their pictures on their blogs and keep me up to date on everything.  What a neat idea!  I didn't get to see Todd, but Megan came over with Chloe and she is so cute and is walking now with lots of help from Ruby!  They are all such good mothers!

  • Camping in Island Park!

Last week I went with Cindy and John & family to Island Park.  She rented a trailer and we stayed in the McCrea campground.  It was really clean the restrooms were very nice!  It was hot all week and most of the group played in the water or floted down the river on rafts almost everyday.  I did't go with them, as I didn't want to be out in the hot sun all afternoon.  Grandma Thompson and I stayed in camp and visited.  We went to Mack Inn's playhouse on Wednesday evening and had a dinner and watch the show.  It was called Butch Cassidy and the Sunburnt Kid!  It was a hoot!  Cindy's married kids came with us and I got a chance to know them better.  David & Liz and Emily and Jay and kids.  6 of us slept in the trailer and it was a bit crowded and no where to put our suitcases and stuff!  But oh well we still had a good time!  I even woke up one morning with Roxey, Cindy's dog sleeping right next to me!  There were 20 of us all together.

This week Calan has been staying with me while his mother is at Girls Camp.  I think he is ready for his mother to come home.  Doug came over and had dinner with us last night.  He is out of town today and won't be back until late.

I have been busy with my geneology and have run into some problems and can't seem to figure out what to do!  One family shows they have 5 children and my records show only 3 and none of the names are the same and I can't find any oither help!  Guess I'll set that aside for now.  Well I send my love to you all.  GG
